Quran 29:5 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
Whoever expects to encounter God should know that God’s appointed term for this encounter will indeed come; so let him prepare for it. And He is the Hearer of the sayings of His servants the Knower of their actions.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
He in whose breast hope springs eternal for meeting with Allah in Day of Judgement and who expects His mercy and blessings and dreads His retributive punishment must realize that that Day is indeed inevitable and He -Allah- is AL- Sami (Omnipresent with unlimited audition), AL-Alim (Omniscient)
Quran 29:5 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Allah will fulfill the Hopes of the Righteous Allah's saying;
( Whoever hopes in meeting with Allah, ) means, in the Hereafter, and does righteous deeds, and hopes for a great reward with Allah, then Allah will fulfill his hopes and reward him for his deeds in full.
This will undoubtedly come to pass, for He is the One Who hears all supplications, He knows and understands the needs of all created beings.
Allah says:
( Whoever hopes in meeting with Allah, then Allah's term is surely coming, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. )
( And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. ) This is like the Ayah,
( Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for himself ) ( 41:46 ).
Whoever does a righteous deed, the benefit of that deed will come back to him, for Allah has no need of the deeds of His servants, and even if all of them were to be as pious as the most pious man among them, that would not add to His dominion in the slightest.
Allah says:
( And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself.
Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the creatures. ) Then Allah tells us that even though He has no need of His creatures, He is kind and generous to them.
He will still give to those who believe and do righteous deeds the best of rewards, which is that He will expiate for them their bad deeds, and will reward them according to the best deeds that they did.
He will accept the fewest good deeds and in return for one good deed will give anything between ten rewards and seven hundred, but for every bad deed, He will give only one evil merit, or even that He may overlook and forgive.
This is like the Ayah,
( Surely, Allah wrongs not even the weight of a speck of dust, but if there is any good, He doubles it, and gives from Him a great reward. ) ( 4:40 ).
And He says here:
وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّـلِحَـتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِى كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ
( Those who believe, and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and We shall indeed reward them according to the best of that which they used to do. )
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(29:5) Let him who looks forward to meeting Allah know that Allah's appointed term will surely come to pass. *6 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. *7
Whoever should hope for the meeting with meaning
*6) That is, " The case of the one who does not believe in the life hereafter and thinks he is answerable to none for his deeds and there is no accountability whatever, is different.
He may remain heedless and act as he likes, for he will himself see the consequences when they appear against his expectations.
But those who expect that they have to meet their Lord one day and rewarded and punished according to their.
deeds, should not have the misunderstanding that the time of death is yet tar off.
They should rather think that it is near at hand and the respite for action is about to come to an end.
Therefore, whatever they can do for their well-being in the Hereafter, they should do.
They should not delay self-reform on account of the baseless belief that they have yet to live a long life. "
*7) That is, " That God before Whom they will appear to render their accounts is not uninformed.
He hears everything and knows every thing, and nothing about them is hidden from Him. "
Tafsir Maarif-ul-Quran Mufti Muhammad Shafi

( Whoso looketh forward to ) whoever fears ( the meeting with Allah (let him know that ) Allah’s reckoning) resurrection after death ( is surely nigh ) will surely happen, ( and He is the Hearer ) of what both parties said on the Day of Badr, ( the Knower ) of that which befalls them.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming. and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
