Quran 6:73 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in truth that is to say with the purpose of manifesting truth. And mention the day He says to a thing ‘Be’ and it is — this is the Day of Resurrection when He says to creatures ‘Rise up’ and they do. His words are the truth the truth that will doubtless come to pass; and His is the Kingdom the day when the trumpet the horn is blown the second blast by the angel Isrāfīl when there shall be no kingdom for any other than Him ‘Whose is the Kingdom today? God’s’ Q. 4016. He is the Knower of the Unseen and the visible what is hidden and what may be seen. He is the Wise in His creation the Aware of things inwardly hidden and outwardly manifest.

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

He is it Who created the heavens and the earth in truth and with a set of invariable cosmic laws in all manner of wisdom and for a valid reason. The instant He says to an object or to an event Be it is there. His Word is the truth personified and to Him belong the absolute sovereignty and the full control of the Eventful Event when the trumpet is sounded indicative of Resurrection and Judgement. He is the Omniscient of the invisible, the hidden and the unseen, the Omniscient of what the breasts store of thoughts and feelings and of what they forge. He has cognizance and holds prescience of what you converse secretly and utter below your breath and of what is suggested secretly to the mind. He is well acquainted with the visible and the seen and with what is avowed openly and openly disclosed, with all that is uttered loudly and with all that is being said. He is Al Hakim (he Source of wisdom and wise mysterious dispensations) and AL-Khabir (The Omniscient)

Quran 6:73 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

The Parable of Those Who Revert to Disbelief After Faith and Good Deeds As-Suddi said, "Some idolators said to some Muslims, `Follow us and abandon the religion of Muhammad ﷺ.' Allah sent down the revelation, قُلْ أَنَدْعُواْ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لاَ يَنفَعُنَا وَلاَ يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَى أَعْقَـبِنَا ( Say: "Shall we invoke others besides Allah, that can do us neither good nor harm, and shall we turn on our heels..." ) by reverting to disbelief, بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ ( "...after Allah has guided us." ) for if we do this, our example will be like he whom the devils have caused to wander in confusion throughout the land.
Allah says here, your example, if you revert to disbelief after you believed, is that of a man who went with some people on a road, but he lost his way and the devils led him to wander in confusion over the land.
Meanwhile, his companions on the road were calling him to come to them saying, `Come back to us, for we are on the path.' But, he refused to go back to them.
This is the example of he who follows the devil after recognizing Muhammad ﷺ, and Muhammad ﷺ is the person who is calling the people to the path, and the path is Islam." Ibn Jarir recorded this statement.Allah's statement, j كَالَّذِى اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَـطِينُ فِى الاٌّرْضِ ( Like one whom the Shayatin (devils ) have made to go astray ( wandering ) through the land, ) refers to ghouls, يَدْعُونَهُ ( calling him ) by his name, his father's and his grandfather's names.
So he follows the devils' call thinking that it is a path of guidance, but by the morning he will find himself destroyed and perhaps they eat him.
The Jinns will then let him wander in a wasteland where he will die of thirst.
This is the example of those who follow the false gods that are being worshipped instead of Allah, Most Honored.
Ibn Jarir also recorded this.
Allah said, قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللَّهِ هُوَ الْهُدَى ( Say: "Verily, Allah's guidance is the only guidance," ) Allah said in other instances, وَمَن يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِن مُّضِلٍّ ( And whomsoever Allah guides, for him there will be none to misguide him. ) 39:37, and, إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَى هُدَاهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَهْدِى مَن يُضِلُّ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِّن نَّـصِرِينَ ( If you covet for their guidance, then verily Allah guides not those whom He makes to go astray.
And they will have no helpers. )
17:37 Allah's statement, وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ ( and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all that exists. ) means, we were commanded to worship Allah in sincerity to Him alone, without partners. وَأَنْ أَقِيمُواْ الصَّلوةَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ( And to perform the Salah, and have Taqwa of Him. ) meaning, we were commanded to perform the prayer and to fear Allah in all circumstances, وَهُوَ الَّذِى إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ( and it is He to Whom you shall be gathered. ) on the Day of Resurrection. وَهُوَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ( It is He Who has created the heavens and the earth in truth. ) meaning, in justice, and He is their Originator and Owner Who governs their affairs and the affairs of their inhabitants.
Allah said, وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُن فَيَكُونُ ( and on the Day He will say: "Be!" it shall become. ) Referring to the Day of Resurrection, which will come faster than the blink of an eye, when Allah says to it, `Be.' As-Sur; The Trumpet Allah's statement, يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى الصُّوَرِ ( on the Day when the Sur will be blown... ) refers to His statement, وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُن فَيَكُونُ ( and on the Day He will say: "Be!" it shall become. ) as we stated above.
Or, it means, وَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى الصُّوَرِ ( His will be the dominion on the Day when the Sur will be blown. ) Allah said in other Ayat, لِّمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ لِلَّهِ الْوَحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ ( Whose is the kingdom this Day It is Allah's, the One, the Irresistible! ) 40:16, and, الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمَـنِ وَكَانَ يَوْماً عَلَى الْكَـفِرِينَ عَسِيراً ( The sovereignty on that Day will be the true (sovereignty ), belonging to the Most Beneficent ( Allah ), and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers.) 25:26 The Sur is the Trumpet into which the angel Israfil, peace be upon him, will blow.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
«إِنَّ إِسْرَافِيلَ قَدِ الْتَقَمَ الصُّورَ، وَحَنَى جَبْهَتَهُ يَنْتَظِرُ مَتَى يُؤْمَر فَيَنْفُخ»
( Israfil has held the Sur in his mouth and lowered his forehead, awaiting the command to blow in it. ) Muslim recorded this Hadith in his Sahih.
Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah bin `Amr said, "A bedouin man said, `O Allah's Messenger! What is the Sur' He said,
«قَرْنٌ يُنْفَخُ فِيه»
( A Trumpet which will be blown. )"

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(6:73) And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in truth; *46 and the very day He will say: "Be!" (resurrection) there will be. His word is the Truth and His will be the dominion *47 on the day when the-Trumpet is blown. *48 He knows all that lies beyond the reach of human perception as well as all that is visible to man; *49 He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.'

And it is He who created the meaning

*46).
It has been asserted again and again in the Qur'an that God created the heavens and the earth 'in truth'.
This covers a wide range of meanings:
First, that the heavens and the earth have not been created just for the fun of it.
This existence is not a theatrical play.
This world is not a child's toy with which to amuse oneself as long as one wishes before crushing it to bits and throwing it away.
Creation is rather an act of great seriousness.
A great objective motivates it, and a wise purpose underlies it.
Hence, after the lapse of a certain stage it is necessary for the Creator to take full account of the work that has been done and to use those results as the basis for the next stage.
This is stated at various places in the Qur'an in the following manner:
Our Lord, You did not create this in vain ( Surah Al 'Imran 3:191 ).

And We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever lies in between them playfully ( Surah Al-Anbiya' 21:16 ).

And did you think that We created you out of play and that you will not be brought back to Us? ( Surah al-Mu'minun 23:115 ).

Second, it means that God has created this entire system of the universe on solid foundations of truth.
The whole of the universe is based on justice, wisdom and truth.
Hence, there is no scope in thesystem for falsehood to take root and prosper.
The phenomenon of the prosperity of falsehood which we observe, is to be ascribed to the will of God, Who grants the followers of falsehood the opportunity, if they so wish, to expend their efforts in promoting unrighteousness, injustice and untruth.
In the end, however, the earth wfll throw up all the seeds of untruth that have been sown, and in the final reckoning every follower of falsehood will see that the efforts he devoted to cultivating and watering this pernicious tree have all gone to waste.

Third, it means that God has founded the universe on the basis of right, and it is on the ground of being its Creator that He governs it.
His command in the universe is supreme since He alone has the right to govern it, the universe being nothing but His creation.
If anyone else's commands seem to be carried out in this world, this should not cause any misunderstanding.
For in reality the will of no one prevails, and cannot prevail in the universe, for no one has any right to enforce his will.

*47).
This does not mean that the present dominion is not His.
The purpose of this statement is rather to stress that when the veil which keeps things covered during the present phase of existence is lifted and the Truth becomes fully manifest, it will become quite clear that all those who seemed or were considered to possess power and authority are absolutely powerless, and that the true dominion belongs to the One True God Who created the universe.

*48).
In what manner the Trumpet will be blown is difficult for us to grasp. What we know through the Qur'an is that on the Day of Judgement the Trumpet will be blown on God's command, whereupon all will die.
Then after an indefinite period of time - a period that is known to God alone - the second Trumpet will be blown, whereupon all people of all epochs will be resurrected and will find themselves on the Plane of the Congregation.

Thus, when the first Trumpet is blown the entire order of the universe will be disrupted, while on the blowing of the second Trumpet a fresh order will be established, in a new form and with a new set of laws governing it.

*49).
Ghayb signifies all that is hidden from, and is beyond the ken of man's knowledge.
Shahadah, as opposed to ghayb, signifies that which is manifest and thus can be known to man.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

( He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in truth ) to expound the Truth and expose falsehood; it is also said that this means: to show that they are ephemeral and evanescent. ( In that day when He saith ) to the wall: ( Be! it is ) i.e. the heavens will become a wall which will be blown into, like one blows into a horn. Then the heaven will be changed into a different heaven; it is also said that ( Be! it is ) means: when He says to the Day of Judgement: Be, and it will be. ( His word ) regarding the resurrection ( is the Truth, and His will be the Sovereignty ) the judgement between the servants ( on the Day when the trumpet is blown. Knower of the invisible ) that which will happen in the future ( and the visible ) that which has already happened; it is also said that the ’invisible’ refers to that which is unseen by people while ’the visible’ refers to that which Allah’s servants see, ( He is the Wise ) in His command and decree, ( the Aware ) of His created beings and of their works.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

It is He Who has created the heavens and the earth in truth, and on the Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) He will say: "Be!", - and it shall become. His Word is the truth. His will be the dominion on the Day when the trumpet will be blown. All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the All-Wise, Well-Aware (of all things).
