Surah Hud ayat 84 Tafsir Quran 11:84

﴿۞ وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ وَلَا تَنقُصُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ ۚ إِنِّي أَرَاكُم بِخَيْرٍ وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ﴾
[ هود: 84]

11:84 And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the scale. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day.

And We sent to Midian their brother Shu‘ayb. He said ‘O my people worship God! affirm His Oneness. You have no god other than He. And diminish not the measure or the weight. I see you in prosperity enjoying a grace which precludes any need for stinting people; and I fear for you should you not believe the chastisement of a besetting day besetting you destroying you the attribution of this term ‘besetting’ to ‘a day’ as opposed to ‘the chastisement’ is figurative for it the chastisement will take place thereupon.

We sent to the Midianites their brother, the Messenger Shuaib, who said to them: My people: worship Allah and adore Him with appropriate acts and rites; no Ilah have you but He. You must not fraudulently scant the measure and the weight; I see that you are a people of condition and I do fear for you the punishment coming into play on a Momentous Day when all the guilty be surrounded and there is no escape

The Story of the People of Madyan and the Call of Shu`ayb Allah, the Exalted, says, `We sent a Messenger to the people of Madyan.' They were a tribe of Arabs who lived between the land of the Al-Hijaz and Ash-Sham, close to the land of Ma`an.
Their land was known by the name of their tribe and was thus, called Madyan.
Allah sent unto them the Prophet Shu`ayb and he was of the noblest of them in lineage.
For this reason, Allah said, أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ( their brother Shu`ayb. ) Shu`ayb commanded them to worship Allah alone without associating any partners with him.
He also prohibited them from cheating in their weights and measures ( for business transactions ). إِنِّى أَرَاكُمْ بِخَيْرٍ ( I see you in prosperity ) meaning, `in your livelihood and your provisions.
And verily, I fear that you will be deprived of this bounty that you are enjoying by violating Allah's prohibitions.' وَإِنِّى أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ ( and verily, I fear for you the torment of a Day encompassing. ) This means the abode of the Hereafter.

(11:84) And to (the people of) Midian We sent their brother Shu'ayb. *94 He said: 'My people! Serve Allah; you have no god other than Him. And do not diminish the measure and weight. Indeed I see that you are prospering now, but I fear for you the chastisement of an encompassing day in the future.

And to Madyan [We sent] their brother meaning

( And unto Midian ) and We sent to Midian ( their brother Shu’ayb ) their Prophet Jethro. ( He said: O my people! Serve Allah ) declare Allah’s divine Oneness. ( Ye have no other God save Him! ) you have no other god except the One I command you to believe in ( And give not short measure and short weight ) do not take people’s right in measure and weight. ( Lo! I see you well to do ) I see that you are at ease, possess wealth and the prices are quite low, ( and lo! I fear for you ) if you do not believe in Him and do not give the right measure and weight ( the doom of a besetting Day ) a doom that will encompass all of you such that none will escape from drought, lack of foodstuffs and other bad things.

And to the Madyan (Midian) people (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (God) but Him, and give not short measure or weight, I see you in prosperity; and verily I fear for you the torment of a Day encompassing.
