أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ(1)

 Har Vi ikke åpnet ditt hjerte!

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ(2)

 Har Vi ikke tatt fra deg din byrde?

الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ(3)

 Som tynget på din rygg?

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ(4)

 Og Vi har hevet din anseelse!

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا(5)

 Motgang og medgang følges ad,

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا(6)

 ja, visselig, motgang og medgang følges ad.

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ(7)

 Når du nå er fri, så anstreng deg,

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب(8)

 og søk din Herre!
