12:11 They said, "O our father, why do you not entrust us with Joseph while indeed, we are to him sincere counselors?

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

When they agreed to get rid of him, they said to their father, Jacob: O our father, why do not you trust us with Joseph? We have compassion for him and we will take care of him against anything that might harm him.
We want good for him, so we will protect and look after him until he comes back to you safely.
So, what stops you from sending him with us?

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

They said: "O our father! Why do you not trust us with Yusuf (Joseph), - when we are indeed his well-wishers?"

Qaloo ya abana ma laka la tamanna AAala yoosufa wainna lahu lanasihoona
