﴿فَضَرَبْنَا عَلَىٰ آذَانِهِمْ فِي الْكَهْفِ سِنِينَ عَدَدًا﴾
[ الكهف: 11]
18:11 So We cast [a cover of sleep] over their ears within the cave for a number of years.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThen after they went and took refuge in the cave, I put a barrier on their ears from hearing, and I put them to sleep for many years.

Therefore We covered up their (sense of) hearing (causing them, to go in deep sleep) in the Cave for a number of years.

Fadarabna AAala athanihim fee alkahfi sineena AAadadan

Then We draw (a veil) over their ears, for a number of years, in the Cave, (so that they heard not):

Therefore, We covered up their hearing in Al-Kahf for a number of years.
