Verse 111 from surah Al-Baqarah

﴿وَقَالُوا لَن يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَىٰ ۗ تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ ۗ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ﴾
[ البقرة: 111]

English - Sahih International

2:111 And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking, Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The Jews and the Christians each said that Paradise would be for them alone.
These were just their vain wishes and imaginings.
Tell them, O Prophet, in reply, to bring proof of what they were claiming if they were telling the truth.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And they say, "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." These are their own desires. Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him), "Produce your proof if you are truthful."

Waqaloo lan yadkhula aljannata illa man kana hoodan aw nasara tilka amaniyyuhum qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And they say, "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." These are their own desires. Say (O Muhammad), "Produce your Burhan if you are truthful."

(2:111) They say, "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or according to the Christians) a Christian." These are their wishful fancies. *112 Say to them, "Bring your proof, if you are right in your claim."
