﴿وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ﴾
[ التكوير: 23]
81:23 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishYour companion had seen Gabriel in the form that he was created in the clear horizon of the sky.

And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east).

Walaqad raahu bialofuqi almubeeni

And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon.
