Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you might (2:242)

﴿كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ﴾
[ البقرة: 242]

2:242 Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you might use reason.

As with the previous explanation, Allah explains these verses – containing His limits and laws – to the believers so that they understand and practice them, and so achieve the good of this world and the Afterlife.

Thus Allah makes clear His Ayat (Laws) to you, in order that you may understand.

Kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona

Thus doth Allah Make clear His Signs to you: In order that ye may understand.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Thus Allah makes clear His Ayat (Laws) to you, in order that you may understand.
