And We did not send down upon his people after him any (36:28)

﴿۞ وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِن بَعْدِهِ مِن جُندٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ﴾
[ يس: 28]

36:28 And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so.

In order to destroy his people who had denied and killed him, I did not need an army of angels to be sent down from the sky.
Their matter was much easier than that for Me.
I had decreed that their destruction will be by a blast from the sky and not by sending down the angels of punishment.

And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We send (such a thing).

Wama anzalna AAala qawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina alssamai wama kunna munzileena

And We sent not down against his People, after him, any hosts from heaven, nor was it needful for Us so to do.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And We sent not against his people after him an army from the heaven, nor was it needful for Us to send (such a thing).
