2:53 And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Also, remember that Allah’s giving Moses ( peace be upon him ) the Torah as a criterion between truth and falsehood, discriminating between guidance and misguidance, so that you might be guided to the truth through it, were from the blessings of Allah.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And (remember) when We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)] and the criterion (of right and wrong) so that you may be guided aright.
