surah Baqarah aya 55 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ﴾
[ البقرة: 55]
2:55 And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAlso, remember when you shamelessly addressed Moses ( peace be upon him ), saying that you would not believe him until you saw Allah with your own eyes, in the open before you, and the lightning struck you and killed you, whilst some of you looked at the others.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And (remember) when you said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never believe in you till we see Allah plainly." But you were seized with a thunderbolt (lightning) while you were looking.

Waith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tanthuroona
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And (remember) when you said: "O Musa! We shall never believe in you until we see Allah plainly." But you were seized with a bolt of lightning while you were looking.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".

Again you said to Mussa: We will not recognise your mission until we see Allah personally and perceive Him by sight. There and then did heaven reverberate thunder against you and the fearful echoes thundered in your ears and with lightning did heaven strike you dead as you gazed your souls away

(2:55) Remember when you said, "O Moses, we are not going to believe you until we see with our own eyes Allah (talking to you)". At that very time a thunderbolt struck you while you were looking on and you fell lifeless.

یاد کرو جب تم نے موسیٰؑ سے کہا تھا کہ ہم تمہارے کہنے کا ہرگز یقین نہ کریں گے، جب تک کہ اپنی آنکھوں سے علانیہ خدا کو (تم سے کلام کرتے) نہ دیکھ لیں اس وقت تمہارے دیکھتے دیکھتے ایک زبردست صاعقے نے تم کو آ لیا
