Verse 144 from surah Al Imran

﴿وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ﴾
[ آل عمران: 144]

Ayat With Hindi Translation

(फिर लड़ाई से जी क्यों चुराते हो) और मोहम्मद तो सिर्फ रसूल हैं (ख़ुदा नहीं) इनसे पहले बहुतेरे पैग़म्बर गुज़र चुके हैं फिर क्या अगर मोहम्मद अपनी मौत से मर जॉए या मार डाले जाएं तो तुम उलटे पॉव (अपने कुफ़्र की तरफ़) पलट जाओगे और जो उलटे पॉव फिरेगा (भी) तो (समझ लो) हरगिज़ ख़ुदा का कुछ भी नहीं बिगड़ेगा और अनक़रीब ख़ुदा का शुक्र करने वालों को अच्छा बदला देगा

79. अर्थात इस्लाम से फिर जाओगे। भावार्थ यह है कि सत्धर्म इस्लाम स्थायी है, नबी (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) के न रहने से समाप्त नहीं हो जाएगा। उह़ुद में जब किसी विरोधी ने यह बात उड़ाई कि नबी (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) मार दिए गए, तो यह सुन कर बहुत से मुसलमान हताश हो गए। कुछ ने कहा कि अब लड़ने से क्या लाभ? तथा मुनाफ़िक़ों ने कहा कि मुह़म्मद (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) नबी होते तो मार नहीं खाते। इस आयत में यह संकेत है कि दूसरे नबियों के समान आपको भी एक दिन संसार से जाना है। तो क्या तुम उन्हीं के लिए इस्लास को मानते हो और आप नहीं रहेंगे तो इस्लाम नहीं रहेगा?

मुहम्मद तो बस एक रसूल है। उनसे पहले भी रसूल गुज़र चुके है। तो क्या यदि उनकी मृत्यु हो जाए या उनकी हत्या कर दी जाए तो तुम उल्टे पाँव फिर जाओगे? जो कोई उल्टे पाँव फिरेगा, वह अल्लाह का कुछ नहीं बिगाडेगा। और कृतज्ञ लोगों को अल्लाह बदला देगा

Quran Urdu translation

اور محمد (صلی الله علیہ وسلم) تو صرف (خدا کے) پیغمبر ہیں ان سے پہلے بھی بہت سے پیغمبر ہو گزرے ہیں بھلا اگر یہ مر جائیں یا مارے جائیں تو تم الٹے پاؤں پھر جاؤ؟ (یعنی مرتد ہو جاؤ؟) اور جو الٹے پاؤں پھر جائے گا تو خدا کا کچھ نقصان نہ کر سکے گا اور خدا شکر گزاروں کو (بڑا) ثواب دے گا

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(3:144) Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, and Messengers have passed away before him. If, then, he were to die or be slain will you turn about on your heels? *103 Whoever turns about on his heels can in no way harm Allah. As for the grateful ones, Allah will soon reward them.

*103). When the rumour of the Prophet's martyrdom spread during the battle, it disheartened most of the Companions. The hypocrites who were in the Muslim camp began to advise the believers to approach 'Abd Allah b. Ubayy so that he might secure protection for them from Abu Sufyan. Some went so far as to say that had Muhammad really been the Messenger of God he would not have been put to death, and for that reason they counselled people to revert to their ancestral faith. It is in this context that the Muslims are now told that if their devotion to the truth is wholly bound up with the person of Muhammad (peace be on him), and if their submission to God is so lukewarm that his demise would cause them to plunge back into the disbelief they had cast off, then they should bear in mind the fact that Islam does not need them.

Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afain mata aw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum waman yanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allaha shayan wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena

English - Sahih International


Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.

আর মুহাম্মদ একজন রসূল বৈ তো নয়! তাঁর পূর্বেও বহু রসূল অতিবাহিত হয়ে গেছেন। তাহলে কি তিনি যদি মৃত্যুবরণ করেন অথবা নিহত হন, তবে তোমরা পশ্চাদপসরণ করবে? বস্তুতঃ কেউ যদি পশ্চাদপসরণ করে, তবে তাতে আল্লাহর কিছুই ক্ষতি-বৃদ্ধি হবে না। আর যারা কৃতজ্ঞ, আল্লাহ তাদের সওয়াব দান করবেন।

  8. निरे खरे अल्लाह के होकर (रहो) उसका किसी को शरीक न बनाओ और जिस शख्स
  9. ऐसे लोगों का (ज़रूर) कहना मानो जो तुमसे (तबलीख़े रिसालत की) कुछ मज़दूरी नहीं माँगते
  10. ख़ुदा ने सारे आसमान और ज़मीन को बिल्कुल ठीक पैदा किया इसमें शक नहीं कि
