surah Muminun aya 117 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ لَا بُرْهَانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ﴾
[ المؤمنون: 117]
23:117 And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishWhoever calls upon another god besides Allah for which he has no proof ( and this is the case with every god besides Allah ), the reward of his bad action is with his Lord, as He is the One Who will reward him for it by punishing him.
The disbelievers will not be successful in attaining what they desire and being saved from their fears.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful.

Waman yadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la burhana lahu bihi fainnama hisabuhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflihu alkafiroona
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And whoever invokes besides Allah, any other god, of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely, disbelievers will not be successful.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".

And he who invokes, or incorporates with Allah, another llah without presenting evidence convincing the mind shall have much to answer for. This is in reply to the charges put against him by Allah, his Creator, in Day of Judgement. Never shall the infidels who deny Allah and His statutes find an instance of physical or spiritual prosperity Hereafter
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(23:117) Therefore, if some one invokes any other deity along with Allah, whereof he has no proof, *104 he shall have to give an account to his Lord. *105 Such disbelievers can never attain "success" *106
And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no meaning
*104) It may also be translated as: "The one who invokes any other deity along with Allah, has nothing to support him in this act."
*105) That is, he cannot escape accountability.
*106) Again, the reference is to those who will attain we success ana to those who will be deprived of it.

اور جو کوئی اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور معبود کو پکارے، جس کے لیے اس کے پاس کوئی دلیل نہیں، تو اس کا حساب اس کے رب کے پاس ہے ایسے کافر کبھی فلاح نہیں پا سکتے
