Verse 12 from surah As-Sajdah

﴿وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ﴾
[ السجدة: 12]

English - Sahih International

32:12 If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The criminals will soon emerge on the Day of Judgment bowing their heads in humiliation due to their rejection of resurrection, feeling ashamed and saying, “Our Lord! I have seen the resurrection I used to reject, and heard the confirmation of that which the Messengers brought from You, so return us to the worldly life so that I can do good deeds that will make You pleased with us.
Indeed, I now convinced of the resurrection and the truth of whatever the Messengers brought.
” If you were to see the criminals in that state, you would see a grave scene!

And if you only could see when the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) shall hang their heads before their Lord (saying): "Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world), we will do righteous good deeds. Verily! We now believe with certainty."

Walaw tara ithi almujrimoona nakisoo ruoosihim AAinda rabbihim rabbana absarna wasamiAAna faarjiAAna naAAmal salihan inna mooqinoona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe."

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And if you only could see when the criminals shall hang their heads before their Lord (saying): "Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back that we will do righteous good deeds. Verily, we now believe with certainty."

And if only you Muhammad could envisage the wicked when they are up standing before Allah in Day of Judgement drooping their heads, incensed with multiple wrongs and humiliations, imploring His mercy and expressing their thoughts in words: Now O Allah, our Creator, we can see what our minds eyes failed to see and we hear what our hearts ears failed to hear Would You send us back to make up for what we neglected and to imprint our deeds with wisdom and piety. We are now convinced that what the Messengers presented to us was indeed the truth

(32:12) Would *22 that you could see the guilty standing before their Lord with their heads downcast, (saying to Him): 'Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world) that we might act righteously. For now we have come to have firm faith.'
