And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as (46:12)

﴿وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَهَٰذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ﴾
[ الأحقاف: 12]

46:12 And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.

And before this Qur’ān is the Torah, the book which Allah revealed on Moses ( peace be upon him ) as a leader to be followed in the truth and as a mercy for those who believe in it and follow it amongst the Israelites.
And this Qur’ān which has been revealed upon Muhammad ( peace be upon him ) is a book which confirms the books before it, in the Arabic language, so that he can warn through it those who wronged themselves through associating partners with Allah and by committing sins, and it is a glad tiding to the good-doers who made their relationship with their Creator and their relationship with His creation good.

And before this was the Scripture of Musa (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Quran) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112).

Wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan wahatha kitabun musaddiqun lisanan AAarabiyyan liyunthira allatheena thalamoo wabushra lilmuhsineena

And before this, was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: And this Book confirms (it) in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tidings to those who do right.

And before this was the Scripture of Musa as a guide and a mercy. And this is a Book confirming in the Arabic tongue, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings for the doers of good.
