﴿وَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرَانَ الَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْقَانِتِينَ﴾
[ التحريم: 12]

English - Sahih International

66:12 And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

And Allah also mentions an example for those who have faith in Him and His Messengers, in the condition of Mary the daughter of ‘Imrān who safeguarded her private parts from fornication, so Allah commanded Gabriel to blow into her due to which she fell pregnant through the power of Allah with Jesus the son of Mary, without a father.
She also believed in the religions of Allah and the books revealed to His Messengers, and she was obedient to Allah by fulfilling His commands and refraining from the things He did not allow.

And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah).

Wamaryama ibnata AAimrana allatee ahsanat farjaha fanafakhna feehi min roohina wasaddaqat bikalimati rabbiha wakutubihi wakanat mina alqaniteena

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And Maryam, the daughter of `Imran who guarded her chastity (private part). And We breathed into it through Our Ruh, and she testified to the truth of her Lords Kalimat, and His Kutub, and she was of the Qanitin.

Also Maryam (Mary) the daughter of lmran who guarded herself from being supposed, and maintained the flower of faith and chastity. We sent to her Our Messenger, the Spirit Jibril (Gabril), to breathe life into her and animate a soul in her womb. she submitted to Allahs Authority and His ordinance, and she was one of those devoted to divine worship and service

(66:12) Allah has also set forth the parable of Mary, the daughter of Imran, *26 who guarded her chastity, *27 and into whom We breathed of Our Spirit, *28 and who testified to the words of her Lord and His Books. She was among the obedient. *29

And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her meaning

*26) It may be that the name of Mary's father was 'Imran, or she may have been called "daughter of 'Imran" because she belonged to the family of 'Imran.
*27) This is a refutation of the accusation by the Jews that the birth of ,lesus was, God forbid, the result of a sin of his mother. Their same accusation has been called a monstrous calumny" in An-Nisa`: 156. (For explanation, see E.N. 190 of An-Niasa').
*28) That is, without her having any connection with a man, AIIah breathed into her womb a Spirit from Himself. (For explanation, see E.N.'s 212, 213 of An-Nisa' and E.N. 89 of Al-Anbiya').
