surah Fussilat aya 14 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿إِذْ جَاءَتْهُمُ الرُّسُلُ مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ قَالُوا لَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً فَإِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ﴾
[ فصلت: 14]
41:14 [That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allah." They said, "If our Lord had willed, He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishWhen their messengers came to them, each following the other in bringing one message, instructing them to worship none other than Allah alone.
The disbelievers said, “If our Lord wished to send down angels as messengers to us, He would have sent them.
Therefore, we reject whatever you have been sent with, because you are humans like we are.
”
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
When the Messengers came to them, from before them and behind them (saying): "Worship none but Allah" They said: "If our Lord had so willed, He would surely have sent down the angels. So indeed! We disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."

Behold, the messengers came to them, from before them and behind them, (preaching): "Serve none but Allah." They said, "If our Lord had so pleased, He would certainly have sent down angels (to preach). Now we reject your mission (altogether)."
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
When the Messengers came to them, from before them and behind them (saying): "Worship none but Allah," they said: "If our Lord had so willed, He would surely have sent down the angels. So, indeed we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
41:14 [That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and translate in arabic
إذ جاءتهم الرسل من بين أيديهم ومن خلفهم ألا تعبدوا إلا الله قالوا لو شاء ربنا لأنـزل ملائكة فإنا بما أرسلتم به كافرون
سورة: فصلت - آية: ( 14 ) - جزء: ( 24 ) - صفحة: ( 478 )Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
Their Messengers, who were spectacles and warnings, approached them from every angle and left no stone unturned advising them to worship no one but Allah, but they counselled deaf and said: Had Allah, our Creator, willed us to discern divine truths, He would have sent down angels; therefore we utterly refuse to acknowledge your messages
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(41:14) When the Messengers (of Allah) came to them from the front and from the rear, *18 saying: 'Do not serve any but Allah'; they said: 'Had our Lord so willed, He would have sent down angels. So we deny the Message you have brought.' *19
[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and meaning
*18) This sentence can have several meanings: (1) That the Messengers continued to come to them one after the other; (2) that the Messengers tried in every wav to make them understand the truth and did not leave any stone unturned to bring them to the Right Path; and (3) that the Messengers came to them in their own country as well as in the adjoining countries.
*19) That is "If Allah had disapproved of our religion, and had willed to send a messenger to us to keep us away from it, He would have sent the angels. As you are not an angel but a man like us, we do not believe that you have been sent by God, and sent for the purpose that we give up our religion and adopt the way of life that you arc presenting." The disbelievers' saying that they deny "what you have been sent with", was only sarcastic. It does not mean that they believed him to have been sent by God and then denied what he said. But this is a sarcastic expression of the type that Pharaoh had uttered before his courtiers about the Prophet Moses: "This messenger of yowl, who has been sent to you, seems to be utterly mad." (Ash-Shua'ra' 27). For further explanation, see E.N. 11 of Surah Ya Sin.

جب خدا کے رسول اُن کے پاس آگے اور پیچھے، ہر طرف سے آئے اور انہیں سمجھایا کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہ کرو تو انہوں نے کہا "ہمارا رب چاہتا تو فرشتے بھیجتا، لہٰذا ہم اُس بات کو نہیں مانتے جس کے لیے تم بھیجے گئے ہو"
