﴿قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ﴾
[ الشعراء: 36]
26:36 They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English( ) -.
They said to him: Delay him and his brother and do not rush to punish them.
Send out to the cities of Egypt those who will gather the magicians, to bring every magician, well versed in magic.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
They said: "Put him off and his brother (for a while), and send callers to the cities

Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almadaini hashireena
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect-
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
They said: "Put him off and his brother (for a while), and send callers to the cities;"

They -the people- suggested to Pharaoh that they should adapt themselves and conform to the time and circumstances and avoid dispute so as to gain time, and they said: the time to degrade and defeat him has not come yet.
