surah Anfal aya 49 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
8:49 [Remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said, "Their religion has deluded those [Muslims]." But whoever relies upon Allah - then indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishRemember when the hypocrites and those of weak faith were saying: The religion of these people – which promised them victory over their enemies despite their lack of numbers and preparation as compared to the huge number and the strength of their enemies – has deceived them.
They have not understood that the person who places reliance upon Allah alone and who has faith in the victory that Allah has promised, Allah will assist such a person and will never desert them no matter how weak they may be.
Allah is Mighty and no one can overcome Him.
He is Wise in His decree and sacred laws.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease (of disbelief) said: "These people (Muslims) are deceived by their religion." But whoever puts his trust in Allah, then surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

There and then said those in whose hearts reigned vice, the hypocrites and those with ill-natured hearts- thus: How foolish the Muslims are to challenge such a large force; they are befooled by their religion which induced them to attack a great and superior force!. But he who puts his trust in Allah, shall find Allah Azizun and Hakimun
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(8:49) And recall when the hypocrites and those whose hearts were diseased said: 'Their faith has deluded these (believers). *39 But he who puts his trust in Allah shall find Allah All-Mighty. All-Wise.'
[Remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said, meaning
*39). Observing that a small band of resourceless Muslims was getting ready to confront the powerful Quraysh, the hypocrites as well as those who were heedless of God and cared only for worldly interests, often tended to say to one another that the religious passion of the Muslims had driven them to utter fanaticism and zealotry. They were sure that the Muslims would face a total rout on the battlefield. They were puzzled by how the Prophet (peace be on him), in whom the Muslims believed, had cast such a spell over them that they were altogether incapable of rational calculation and were hence rushing straight into the very mouth of death.
