Surah Araf ayat 137 Tafsir Quran 7:137

﴿وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ﴾
[ الأعراف: 137]

7:137 And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.

And We bequeathed upon the people who were oppressed through bondage namely the Children of Israel the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We had blessed with water and trees allatī bāraknā fīhā ‘which We had blessed’ is an adjectival qualification of al-ard ‘the land’ and this was Syria and the fair word of your Lord was fulfilled which was His saying exalted be He Yet We desired to be gracious to those who were oppressed in the land... to the end of the verse Q. 285 for the Children of Israel because they endured patiently persecution at the hands of their enemy; and We destroyed utterly what Pharaoh and his folk had been creating by way of architecture and what they had been erecting read ya‘rishūn or ya‘rushūn what they had been raising of edifices.

And by divine grant did We bring those oppressed, into possession of the eastern and western parts of the land We had blessed*, and thus has the good word of Allah, your Creator, answered the purpose, and complied with the conditions of Bani Israel for their patience and endurance. And We ruined and buried all that Pharaoh and his people had erected of splendid structures and all that they laid as means or support

The People of Fir`awn drown in the Sea; the Children of Israel inherit the Holy Land Allah states that when the people of Fir`awn rebelled and transgressed, even though He inflicted them with consecutive signs, one after another, He took retribution from them by drowning them in the sea that Musa parted by Allah's power, and he and the Children of Israel passed through.
In their pursuit, Fir`awn and his soldiers went in the sea chasing Musa and his people.
When they all had gone inside the water, the sea closed in on them and they all drowned, because they belied the Ayat of Allah and were heedless of them.
Allah said that He has granted the people who were considered weak, the Children of Israel, to inherit the eastern and western parts of the land.
Al-Hasan Al-Basri and Qatadah commented that Allah's statement, مَشَـرِقَ الاٌّرْضِ وَمَغَـرِبَهَا الَّتِى بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ( ...the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We have blessed. ) refers to the Sham area ( Greater Syria ).
Also, Mujahid and Ibn Jarir said that Allah's statement, وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَى عَلَى بَنِى إِسْرءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُواْ ( And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because of their endurance. ) is explained by Allah's other statement, وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُواْ فِى الاٌّرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوَارِثِينَ - وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِى الاٌّرْضِ وَنُرِىَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـمَـنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُواْ يَحْذَرونَ ( And We wished to do a favor to those who were weak (and oppressed ) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors.
And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir`awn and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared) 28:5-6.
Further, Allah's statement, وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ ( And We destroyed what Fir`awn and his people produced, ) meaning, We destroyed what Fir`awn and his people produced, such as agriculture and buildings. وَمَا كَانُواْ يَعْرِشُونَ ( and what they erected. ) Ibn `Abbas and Mujahid said that يَعْرِشُونَ ( they erected ) means, they built.

(7:137) And We made those who had been persecuted inherit the eastern and western lands which We had blessed. *97 Thus your Lord's gracious promise was fulfilled to the Children of Israel, for they had endured with patience; and We destroyed all that Pharaoh and his people had wrought, and all that they had built.

And We caused the people who had meaning

The Israelites were made the inheritors of Palestine.
This has been interpreted by some commentators of the Qur'an to mean that the Israelites were made the rulers of Egypt as well.
This view, however, is neither supported by, the Qur'an nor by any other historical and archaeological evidence.
We have, therefore, serious reservations about the correctness of this opinion.

( And We caused the folk who were despised ) who were humiliated ( to inherit the eastern parts of the land ) the land of Jerusalem, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt ( and the western parts thereof which We had blessed ) part of it with water and trees. ( And the fair word of the Lord ) to reward them with Paradise or victory ( was fulfilled ) became incumbent ( for the Children of Israel because of their endurance ) in the face of affliction; it is also said: for their endurance upon their religion; ( and We annihilated ) destroyed ( (all ) that Pharaoh and his folk had done) of castles and townships ( and that they had contrived ) and that which they had planted of trees and vines; it is also said that this means: that which they had built.

And We made the people who were considered weak to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We have blessed. And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because of their endurance. And We destroyed completely all the great works and buildings which Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people erected.
