Quran 25:16 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

In it they shall have what they wish abiding therein — an irrevocable state — it the promise to them of what is mentioned is a promise binding on your Lord a promise much besought requested by those who have been promised it as is clear from the following Our Lord grant us what You have promised us through Your messengers Q. 3194 or requested on their behalf by the angels who say Our Lord and admit them into the Gardens of Eden which You have promised them Q. 408.

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

The garden wherein they shall have whatever object of desire affording pleasure and satisfaction. Any wish they express in words or in thought will be instantly fulfilled, For they will have passed through nature to Eternity; a promise Allah binds Himself to, and treats as an obligation

Quran 25:16 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Is the Fire better, or Paradise Here Allah says: `O Muhammad, this that We have described to you about the state of those who are doomed, who will be dragged on their faces to Hell, which will receive them with a scowling face, with hatred and moans.
There they will be thrown into their constricted spaces, tied up to their shoulders, unable to move or call for help, and unable to escape their plight --- is this better, or the eternal Paradise which Allah has promised to the pious among His servants, which He has prepared for them as a reward and ultimate destiny in return for their obedience to Him in this world' لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ ( For them there will be therein all that they desire, ) of delights such as food, drink, clothing, dwellings, means of transportation and scenery, and other things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor the heart of anyone can comprehend.
They will abide therein forever; it will never cease or come to an end, and they will never leave it.
This is what Allah has promised to those whom He has blessed and to whom He has shown His favor.
He says: كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ وَعْداً مَّسْئُولاً ( It is a upon your Lord a Wa`dan Mas'ula ) meaning, it must inevitably come to pass.
Abu Ja`far bin Jarir reported from some of the scholars of the Arabic language that the words وَعْداً مَّسْئُولاً ( Wa`dan Mas'ula ) mean: a binding pledge.
In this Surah Allah mentions Hell, then refers to the situation of the people of Paradise.
This is similar to the passage in Surat As-Saffat where Allah mentions the status of the people of Paradise, with its beauty and joy, then He says: أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلاً أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ - إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـلِمِينَ - إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِى أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ - طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَـطِينِ - فَإِنَّهُمْ لاّكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ - ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْباً مِنْ حَمِيمٍ - ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ - إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْاْ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ - فَهُمْ عَلَى ءَاثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ :( Is that better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum Truly, We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.
Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire, The shoots of its fruit stalks are like the heads of Shayatin.
Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.
Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture.
Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell.
Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path.
So they hastened in their footsteps! )
( 37:62-70 )

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(25:16) wherein they will get everything they desire and wherein they will dwell for ever. This is a promise which your Lord has taken upon Himself to fulfil. *23

For them therein is whatever they wish, meaning

*23) Literally: " It is a promise whose fulfilment can be demanded ( from AIIah ) ".
Here one ma ask the question: How can the promise of the Garden and the threat of the Fire produce any effect on the attitude of a parson who denies Resurrection and the existence of Paradise and Hell? In order to understand the wisdom of this method of admonition, one should keep in view that it is meant to appeal to the self-interest of an obdurate person, who dces not otherwise listen to such arguments.
This is, as if to say, " Even if, for the sake of argument, there is no proof of the reality of the life-after-death, there is also no proof that such an event will not occur at all, and there is a possibility for both.
In the latter case, the Believer and the disbeliever both will be in one and the same position, but if there is life in the Hereafter, as the Prophet asserts, then the disbelievers will be doomed to utter ruin "
.
Therefore, such an approach breaks the stubbornness of the disbelievers and proves to be highly effective when the entire scene of Resurrection gathering of the people, their accountability and of Hell and Heaven is presented in a vivid manner as if the Prophet had himself seen it with his own eyes.

N.
69 thereof, and A I-Ahqaf: 10.

( Therein ) in the Garden ( abiding ) never to die or come out, ( they have all that they desire ) and wish. ( It is for thy Lord a promise that must be fulfilled ) they asked Him and He gave them.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

For them there will be therein all that they desire, and they will abide (there forever). It is a promise binding upon your Lord that must be fulfilled.
