13:30 Thus have We sent you to a community before which [other] communities have passed on so you might recite to them that which We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, "He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return."

Quran 13:30 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
Thus just as We sent prophets before you We have sent you to a community before whom other communities have passed away that you may recite to them that which We have revealed to you that is the Qur’ān; yet they disbelieve in the Compassionate One for when they were commanded to prostrate themselves to Him they said ‘And what is the Compassionate One?’ Say to them O Muhammad (s) ‘He is my Lord; there is no god save Him. In Him I trust and to Him is my recourse’.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
Thus have We sent you O Muhammad to a people before whom generations who received Messengers have passed away, so that you recite to them Our divine revelations and narrate to them all that We have inspired to you, notwithstanding that they deny Allah, AL-Rahman and His mercy, and their hearts dare rise defiant against Him. Say to them: He is Allah, my Creator, there is no Ilah but He; in Him do I trust and to Him do I in lowliest plight repentant stand and unto Him do I set my thought
Quran 13:30 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Our Prophet was sent to recite and call to Allah's Revelation
Allah says, `Just as We sent you, O Muhammad, to your Ummah,
( ..in order that you might recite unto them what We have revealed to you, ) so that you deliver to them Allah's Message.
Likewise, We sent others to earlier nations that disbelieved in Allah.
The Messengers whom We sent before you, were also denied and rejected, so you have an example in what they faced.
And since We sent Our torment and revenge on those people, then let these people fear what will strike them, for their denial of you is harsher than the denial that the previous Messengers faced,'
( By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers ) to the nations before you.)16-63 Allah said in another Ayah,
( Verily, many Messengers were denied before you, with patience they bore the denial and suffering until; till Our help reached them, and none can alter the Words (decree ) of Allah.
Surely, there has reached you the information ( news ) about the Messengers ( before you ).)6-34, meaning, `How We gave them victory and granted the best end for them and their followers in this life and the Hereafter.
' Allah said next,
( while they disbelieve in the Most Gracious (Allah ).) Allah says, `These people, that We sent you to, disbelieve in the Most Gracious and deny Him, because they dislike describing Allah by Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim the Most Gracious, Most Merciful.' This is why on the day of Al-Hudaybiyyah, as Al-Bukhari narrated, they refused to write, "In the Name of Allah, Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim," saying, "We do not know Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim!" Qatadah narrated this words.
Allah the Exalted said,
( Say: "Invoke Allah or invoke the Most Gracious (Allah ), by whatever name you invoke Him, for to Him belong the Best Names.) 17:110 In his Sahih, Imam Muslim recorded that `Abdullah bin `Umar said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
( The most beloved names to Allah the Exalted are: `Abdullah and `Abdur-Rahman. )Allah said next,
( Say: "He is my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but He!" ) meaning: for I believe in Allah in Whom you disbelieve and affirm His Divinity and Lordship.
He is my Lord, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him,
( In Him is my trust, ) in all of my affairs,
( and to Him I turn. ) meaning: to Him I return and repent, for He alone is worthy of all this and none else besides Him.
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(13:30) O Muhammad ! We have sent you as a Messenger in this way *45 among a people before whom many peoples have passed away so that you should recite to them the Message which We have sent down to you; yet they are rejecting the most Compassionate Lord. *46 Say to them, "My Lord is He: there is no deity but He: I have placed my full trust in Him and He is my sole Resort."
Thus have We sent you to a meaning
*45) That is, " In this way that We have not given you a Sign they demanded.
*46) That is, "Instead of serving that most Compassionate Lord, they are discarding His service and setting up other partners in His attributes, powers, rights and giving thanks to others for His blessings."

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( Thus We send thee (O Muhammad ) unto a nation, before whom other nations have passed away, that thou mayst recite unto them that which We have inspired in you) that with which We sent Gabriel to you, i.e. the Qur’an ( while they are disbelievers in the Beneficent ) they say: we do not know the Beneficent, except Musaylimah, the liar. ( Say ) the Beneficent: ( He is my Lord; there is no God save Him. In Him do I put my trust ) I trust in and rely on Him ( and unto Him is my recourse ) to Him is the return in the Hereafter.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Thus have We sent you (O Muhammad SAW) to a community before whom other communities have passed away, in order that you might recite unto them what We have inspired to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Beneficient (Allah) Say: "He is my Lord! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! In Him is my trust, and to Him will be my return with repentance."
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
