He Abraham said ‘Lo! Lot is in it.’ They namely the messengers said ‘We know very well who is in it. Assuredly We shall deliver him read la-nunjiyannahu or la-nunajjiyannahu and his family except his wife she is of those who will stay behind’ of those who will remain behind in the chastisement.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
He -Ibrahim- said: But among its inhabitants dwells Lut. They said: we know exactly who lives there and we will deliver him and his family to safety excepting his wife who has been destined to remain behind -to meet with the same fate of the wicked
Quran 29:32 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
The Angels went to Ibrahim and then to Lut, may peace be upon them both
When Lut, peace be upon him, asked Allah to help him against them, Allah sent angels to help him.
They first came to Ibrahim in the form of guests, so he offered them hospitality in the appropriate manner.
When he saw that they had no interest in the food, he felt some mistrust of them and was fearful of them.
They started to calm him down and gave him the news of a righteous son born by his wife Sarah, who was present, and she was astonished by this, as we have already explained in our Tafsir of Surat Hud and Surat Al-Hijr.
When they brought this news to Ibrahim and told him that they were sent to destroy the people of Lut, he began to speak up for them, hoping to win more time for them so that they might be guided by Allah.
When they said, "We have come to destroy the people of this township,"
( (Ibrahim ) said: "But there is Lut in it." They said: "We know better who is there.
We will verily, save him and his family except his wife, she will be of those who remain behind.") meaning, one of those who will be destroyed, because she used to support them in their disbelief and wrongdoing.
Then the angels left him and visited Lut in the form of handsome young men.
When he saw them like that,
سِىءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا
( he was grieved because of them, and felt straitened on their account. ) means, he was worried since if he had them as guests then he was afraid for them and what his people might do to them, but if he did not host them, he was still afraid of what might happen to them.
At that point he did not know who they were.
( They said: "Have no fear, and do not grieve! Truly, we shall save you and your family except your wife: she will be of those who remain behind.
Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious." ) Jibril, peace be upon him, uprooted their town from the depths of the earth, lifted it up to the sky, then threw it upside down upon them.
Allah rained upon them:
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَـلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنْضُودٍ - مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ وَمَا هِى مِنَ الظَّـلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ
( stones of Sijjil, in a well-arranged manner one after another.
Marked from your Lord; and they are not ever far from the evil doers. ) 11:82-83 Allah turned the place where they had lived into a putrid, stinking lake, which will remain as a lesson to mankind until the Day of Resurrection, and they will be among those who are most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection.

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(29:32) Abraham said: 'But Lot is there.' *55 They replied: 'We are well aware of those who are there. We shall save him and all his household except his wife.' His wife is among those who will stay behind. *56
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." meaning
*55) According to the initial part of this story as related in Surah Hud, the Prophet Abraham at first was perturbed to see the angels in human shape, for he knew that the coming of the angels in human shape was always a prelude to some dangerous mission.
Then, when they gave him the good news, his fear wasallayed and he came to know that they had been sent to the people of Lot.
Then he began making entreaties of mercy for those people ( Hud: 7475 ), but his entreaties were not granted, and it was said: " Do not plead for them any more: your Lord's decree has been issued, and the punishment now cannot be averted. " ( v.
76 ) After this answer, when the Prophet Abraham lost all hope of any increase in the respite of Lot's people, he became anxious about the Prophet Lot himself, and said, what has been related here: " There is Lot in it. " That is, " If the torment comes down when Lot is there, how will he and his household retrain safe from it? "
*56) According to Surah Tahrim: 10, this woman was not faithful to the Prophet Lot.
Tha is why it was decreed that she too, would be afflicted with the torment in spite of being a Prophet's wife.
Most probably when the Prophet Lot had come to Jordan after the migration and settled there, he might have married among the ,people living there.
But the woman did not believe even after spending a lifetime with him, and her sympathies remained with her own people.
As Allah has no consideration for relationships and brotherhoods and every person's case is decided on the basis of his own faith and morality, even being a Prophet's wife did not profit her in any way and she met her doom along with her own people with whom she had remained attached in faith and morality.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( He said ) Abraham said: ( Lo! Lot is there ) so how could you destroy them, O Gabriel? ( They ) i.e. Gabriel and the angels with him ( said: We are best aware of who is there. We are to deliver him and his household ) his daughters Za’ura and Raytha, ( all save his wife ) Wa’ilah the hypocrite, ( who is of those who stay behind ) and be destroyed.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "But there is Lout (Lot) in it." They said:"We know better who is there, we will verily save him [Lout (Lot)] and his family, except his wife, she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
