Quran 11:48 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
It was said ‘O Noah go down disembark from the ship in peace in safety or with a greeting from Us and blessings good things upon you and upon some communities that will spring from those with you in the ship that is from their children and their seed those who are and those who will be the believers. And there will be other communities read umamun to spring from those with you to whom We shall give enjoyment in this world and then a painful chastisement will befall them’ in the Hereafter and these will be the disbelievers.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
He was told: Disembark O Nuh and go downhill with peace of mind, soul and conscience proceeding from us and with blessings upon you and those with you and upon their descendants who conform to Our will and upon succeeding generations; some We shall bless and others shall We put to the torment laid upon the damned
Quran 11:48 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
The Command to descend from the Ship with Peace and Blessings
Allah, the Exalted, informs of what was said to Nuh when the ship anchored on Mount Judi, peace be upon him, peace were sent upon him and the believers with him.
This salutation was also for every believer from his progeny until the Day of Resurrection.
Muhammad bin Ka`b said, "Every male and female believer until the Day of Resurrection is included in this salutation of peace.
Likewise, every male and female disbeliever until the Day of Resurrection is included in this promise of torment and pleasure.
Muhammad bin Ishaq said, "When Allah wanted to stop the flood, He sent a wind upon the face of the earth that caused the water to be still.
Then the springs of the earth were closed off from the great flooding and the pouring ( rain ) from the sky halted.
Allah, the Exalted, says,
وَقِيلَ يَأَرْضُ ابْلَعِى مَآءَكِ
( And it was said: "O earth! Swallow up your water..." ) 11:44 Thus, the water began decreasing and subsiding until the ship settled on Mount Judi.
The People of the Tawrah ( the Jews ) claim that this occurred during the seventh month ( of the year ) and it lasted for seventeen nights.
Then, on the first day of the tenth month, he ( Nuh ) saw the mountain tops.
Then after forty more days, Nuh opened the small window in the roof of the ship and he sent a raven out to see what the water had done.
However, the raven did not return to him.
Then, he sent a pigeon out but it returned to him without finding any place ( land ) to put its two feet down.
He extended his hand out of the ship and the pigeon grabbed his hand so that Nuh could pull it back into the ship.
Then, after seven more days passed, he sent the pigeon out again to investigate for him.
The pigeon returned in the evening with a leaf from an olive tree in its mouth.
From this, Nuh knew that the water had decreased from the face of the earth.
He remained in the ship for seven more days before he sent the pigeon out again.
This time the pigeon did not return to him, so he knew that the earth had appeared.
Thus, a year was completed from the time that Allah sent the flood, until the time of Nuh sending the pigeon.
The first day of the first month of the second year began when the face of the earth appeared and land became visible.
This is when Nuh uncovered the opening of the ship.
During the second month of the second year, after twenty six nights,
قِيلَ ينُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَـمٍ مِّنَّا
( It was said: "O Nuh! Come down (from the ship ) with peace from Us)
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(11:48) It was said: 'Noah! Disembark, *52 with Our peace, and with blessings upon you and upon those who are with you. There are also people whom We shall allow to enjoy themselves for a while, and then a painful chastisement from Us shall afflict them.'
It was said, "O Noah, disembark in meaning
*52).
Noah ( peace be on him ) was directed to disembark on the mountain on which the Ark had rested.

( It was said: "O Nuh! Come down (from the ship ) with peace from Us)
Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( It was said (unto him ): O Noah! Go thou down) get out of the ship ( with peace from Us ) with safety from Us ( and blessings ) good fortunes ( upon you and some nations ) some groups ( from those with thee ) in the ship among the felicitous. ( (There will be other ) nations) hosts of people from their offspring ( unto whom We shall give enjoyment a long while ) We will give them enjoyment after coming out of the loins of their parents ( and then a painful doom from Us will overtake them ) after they disbelieve, these are the damned among them. Ibn ’Abbas, may Allah be well pleased with him, said: Allah sent His revelation to Noah ( pbuh ) when the latter was 480 years old; he preached to his people for 120 years; he boarded the ship when he was 600 years old; he lived after the flood 350 years, and stayed on the ship for five months. The ship was 300 cubits ( the measure of his arm ) long, 50 cubits wide, and its height 30 cubits. It had three decks, some of which were lower than others. In the lower deck, he put beasts of prey and reptiles; in the intermediate deck wild animals and beasts; and in the higher deck people who were 80 in number: 40 men and 40 women. The men and the women were separated by the body of Adam ( pbuh ). Noah had three of his sons with him: Shem, Ham and Yapheth.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
It was said: "O Nuh (Noah)! Come down (from the ship) with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people who are with you (and on some of their off spring), but (there will be other) people to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end a painful torment will reach them from Us."
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
