Quran 11:49 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
Those that is these verses containing stories such as the story of Noah are of the tidings of the Unseen of the tales of that which was hidden from you which We inspire in you O Muhammad (s). You yourself did not know it nor did your people know it before this Qur’ān. So be patient in conveying the Message and in enduring your people’s hurt as Noah endured. Truly the praiseworthy sequel is for those who are God-fearing.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
This true historic account which We relate to you O Muhammad is a narrative of facts and events belonging to the unseen and the unknown. Neither you nor your people knew it before. Therefore, be patient and do realize that the good and happy outcome shall fall to those entertaining the profound reverence dutiful to Allah
Quran 11:49 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
The Explanation of These Stories is a Proof of the Revelation of Allah to His Messenger
Allah, the Exalted, says to His Prophet concerning these stories and their like,
( of the news of the Unseen ) from the information of the unseen of the past.
Allah revealed it to you ( the Prophet ) in the way that it occurred, as if he witnessed it himself.
( which We reveal unto you; ) This means, "We teach it to you ( Muhammad ) as revelation from Us to you."
( neither you nor your people knew it before this. ) This means that neither you ( Muhammad ) nor anyone of your people, have any knowledge of this.
This is so that no one who rejects you can say that you learned it from him.
Rather, it was Allah Who informed you of it in conformity with the true situation ( of the story ), just as the Books of the Prophets who were before you testify to.
Therefore, you should be patient with the rejection of your people and their harming you.
For verily, We shall help you and surround you with Our aid.
Then, We will make the ( good ) end for you and those who follow you in this life and the Hereafter.
This is what We did with the Messengers when We helped them against their enemies.
( Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe. ) Allah also said,
( And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our servants, the Messengers, that they verily, would be made triumphant. ) 37:171-172 Then, Allah says,
( So be patient.
Surely, the (good ) end is for those who have Taqwa.)
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(11:49) We reveal to you these accounts of matters that are beyond the reach of human perception. Neither you nor your people knew about them before this. Be, then, patient. Surely, the good end is for the God-fearing. *53
That is from the news of the meaning
*53).
The Prophet Muhammad ( peace be on him ) is consoled by the statement that in the same way that Noah ( peace be on him ) and his righteous people ultimately succeeded, so will he and his Companions.
It is God's law that the opponents of the truth seem to achieve some measure of success in the beginning.
But ultimate success is the lot of those who, out of their God-fearing, avoid all erroneous ways while seeking to serve the cause of the truth.
The import of the story, therefore, is that the believers should not feel heart-broken by their ephemeral sufferings or the successes of their opponents.
Instead, they should persevere, with courage and fortitude, in their struggle for the cause of the truth.

( This is of the tidings of the Unseen ) this is of the news of what has been hidden from you ( which We inspire in thee ) with which We sent Gabriel to you, O Muhammad, about the news of past nations. ( Thou thyself knewest it not ) i.e. you knew not the news of these past nations, ( nor did thy folk (know it ) before this) before the revelation of the Qur’an. ( Then have patience ) O Muhammad in the face of their denial and harm. ( Lo! the sequel ) the end result: victory and Paradise ( is for those who ward off (evil )) ward off disbelief, idolatry and indecencies.
