Quran 29:61 Surah Ankabut ayat 61 Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English
29:61 If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded?

Quran 29:61 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
And if wa-la-in the lām is for oaths you were to ask them namely the disbelievers ‘Who created the heavens and the earth and disposed the sun and the moon?’ They would assuredly say ‘God.’ So how then are they turned away? from affirming His Oneness after affirming that God created them.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
And if you should ask them -O Muhammad- as to who has created the heavens and the earth and reduced the sun* and the moon to a state of subservience! They will say Allah, and so how could they counsel deaf to the truth
Quran 29:61 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Evidences of Tawhid
Allah states that there is no God but He.
The idolators who worshipped others besides Him recognized that He was the sole creator of the heavens and earth, the sun and the moon, alternating the night and day.
They acknowledged that He was the Creator Who provided for His servants and decreed how long they should live.
He made them and their provision different, so that some were rich and some were poor, and He knew best what was suitable for each of them, who deserved to be rich and who deserved to be poor.
So, Allah stated that He has alone created everything, and that He alone is controlling them -- if this is how it is, then why worship anyone else Why put one's trust in anyone else Since dominion is His Alone, then let worship be for Him Alone.
Allah often establishes His divinity by referring to their acknowledgement of His Unique Lordship, because the idolators used to acknowledge His Lordship, as they said in their Talbiyah (during Hajj and `Umrah: "At Your service, You have no partner, except the partner that You have, and You possess him and whatever he has."
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(29:61) If you were to ask them: *100 'Who created the heavens and the earth and Who has kept the sun and the moon in subjection?' they will certainly say: 'Allah.' How come, then, they are being deluded from the Truth?
If you asked them, "Who created the meaning
*100) From here the discourse is again directed to the disbelievers of Makkah.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( And if thou wert to ask them ) i.e. the disbelievers of Mecca: ( Who created the heavens and the earth, and constrained ) and made subservient ( the sun and the moon? they would say ) the disbelievers of Mecca would say: ( Allah ) created and made them subservient. ( How then are they turned away? ) How then do they lie against Allah?
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
If you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" They will surely reply: "Allah." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
