Quran 10:9 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

Truly those who believe and perform righteous deeds their Lord will guide them He will lead them through their faith in Him by appointing for them a light with which they will be able to find their way on the Day of Resurrection. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Bliss

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

But those whose hearts have been impressed with the image of religious and spiritual virtues and their deeds with wisdom and piety, shall be recipients of Allahs mercy and grace. Allah guides them along the illumination proceeding from their innermost being to His path of righteousness ending in heavens realm of beatitude where picturesque rivers flow beneath them as they enjoy a state of supreme felicity in the gardens of supreme bliss

Quran 10:9 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

The Good Reward is for the People of Faith and Good Deeds In these two Ayat, Allah promises the happy blessings for those who believed in Allah and His Messengers.
And for those that have complied with what they were commanded to follow.
The promise is that He will guide them because of their faith, or it may mean through their faith.
As to the first interpretation, the meaning is that Allah will guide them on the Day of Resurrection to the straight path until they pass into Paradise because of their faith in this world.
The other meaning is that their faith will assist them on the Day of Resurrection as Mujahid said: يَهْدِيهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِإِيمَانِهِمْ ( Their Lord will guide them through their faith ) meaning "Their faith will be a light in which they will walk." دَعْوَهُمْ فِيهَا سُبْحَـنَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلاَمٌ وَءَاخِرُ دَعْوَاهُمْ أَنِ الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ ( Their way of request therein will be: "Glory to You, O Allah!" And Salam (peace, safety from evil ) will be their greetings therein! And the close of their request will be: "All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all that exists.") meaning this is the condition of the people of Paradise.
This is similar to what is found in the following Ayat: تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُ سَلَـمٌ ( Their greeting on the Day they shall meet Him will be "Salam Peace!" ) 33:44, لاَ يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْواً وَلاَ تَأْثِيماً - إِلاَّ قِيلاً سَلَـماً سَلَـماً ( No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk ) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech.
But only the saying of: Salam! Salam!!") 56:25-26, سَلاَمٌ قَوْلاً مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ ( (It will be said to them ): "Salam" -- a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful.) 36:58, وَالمَلَـئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّن كُلِّ بَابٍسَلَـمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ( And angels shall enter unto them from every gate (saying ): "Salamun `Alaykum ( peace be upon you )!") 13:23-24 In Allah's statement, وَءَاخِرُ دَعْوَاهُمْ أَنِ الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ ( And the close of their request will be: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all that exists." ) There is an indication that Allah Almighty is the Praised One always, the Worshipped at all times.
This is why He praised Himself at the beginning and the duration of His creation.
He also praised Himself in the beginning of His Book and the beginning of its revelation.
Allah said: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِى أَنْزَلَ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ الْكِتَـبَ ( All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant the Book (the Qur'an ).) 18:1, الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ الَّذِى خَلَقَ السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضَ ( All praise is due to Allah, Who (alone ) created the heavens and the earth,) 6:1, and many other citations with this meaning.
The Ayah also indicates that Allah is the Praised One in this world and in the Hereafter and in all situations.
In a Hadith recorded by Muslim:
«إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ يُلْهَمُونَ التَّسْبِيحَ وَالتَّحْمِيدَ كَمَا يُلْهَمُونَ النَّفَس»
( The people of Paradise will be inspired to glorify Allah and praise Him as they instinctively breath. ) This will be their nature because of the increasing bounties of Allah upon them.
These bounties are repeated and brought back again and increased with no limit or termination.
So praise be to Allah for there is no God but He and no Lord save He.

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(10:9) Surely those who believe (in the truths revealed in the Book) and do righteous deeds their Lord will guide them aright because of their faith. Rivers shall flow beneath them in the Gardens of Bliss. *13

Indeed, those who have believed and done meaning

*13).
This Qur'anic statement calls for serious reflection.
The sequence of ideas presented here is also quite significant because answers have been systematically provided to a number of highly relevant basic questions.
Let us look at these answers in their sequence.
Why will the righteous enter Paradise? The answer is: because they have followed the straight way in their worldly life.
That is, in all matters and in every walk of life, in all affairs relating to the personal or collective life they have been righteous and have abstained from false ways.

This gives rise to another question: how were the righteous able to obtain a criterion that would enable them to distinguish, at every turn and crossroad of life, between right and wrong, between good and evil, between fair and unfair? And how did they come to have the strength to adhere to what is right and avoid what is wrong? All this, of course, came from their Lord Who bestowed upon them both the guidance which they needed to know the right way and the succour required to follow it.
In answer to why their Lord bestowed upon them this guidance and succour, we are reminded that all this was in consideration for their faith.

It is also made clear that this reward is not in lieu of merely a verbal profession to faith, a profession that is no more than a formal acceptance of certain propositions.
Rather, the reward is in consideration for a faith that became the moving spirit of a believer's character and personality, the force that led him lo righteous deeds and conduct.
We can observe in our own physical lives that a person's survival, state of health, level of energy, and joy of living all depend upon sustenance from the right kind of food.
This food, once digested, provides blood to the veins and arteries, provides energy to the whole body and enables the different limbs to function properly.

The same holds true of man's success in the moral domain.
It is sound beliefs which ensure that he will have the correct outlook, sound orientation and right behaviour that will ultimately lead to his success.
Such results, however, do not ensue from that kind of believing which either consists of a mere profession to faith, or is confined to some obscure corner of man's head or heart.
The wholesome results mentioned above can only be produced by a faith which deeply permeates man's entire being, shaping his mental outlook, even becoming his instinct; a faith which is fully reflected in his character, conduct and outlook on life.
We have just noted the importance of food.
We know that the person who, in spite of eating remains like one who has not partaken of any food, would not be able to enjoy the healthy results that are the lot of the person who has fully assimilated what he ate.
How can it be conceived that it would be different in the moral domain of human life? How can it be that he who remains, even after believing, like the one who does not believe, will derive the benefit and receive the reward meant for those whose believing leads to righteous living?

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

( Lo! those who believe ) in Muhammad, Allah, bless him and give him peace, and in the Qur’an ( and do good works ) they do works of obedience, in that which is between them and their Lord, ( their Lord guideth them ) makes them enter Paradise ( by their faith. Rivers ) of wine, water, honey and milk ( will flow beneath them ) beneath their trees and habitations ( in the Gardens of Delight ),

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah along with the six articles of Faith, i.e. to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments) - Islamic Monotheism], and do deeds of righteousness, their Lord will guide them through their Faith; under them will flow rivers in the Gardens of delight (Paradise).
