Verse 75 from Al-Isra in Arabic

﴿إِذًا لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيرًا﴾
[ الإسراء: 75]

Ithan laathaqnaka diAAfa alhayati wadiAAfa almamati thumma la tajidu laka AAalayna naseera

English translation of the meaning

Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in] life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself against Us a helper.

In that case, We would have made you taste a double portion (of punishment) in this life and a double portion (of punishment) after death. And then you would have found none to help you against Us.

Jika demikian, tentu akan Kami rasakan kepadamu (siksaan) dua kali lipat di dunia ini dan dua kali lipat setelah mati, dan engkau (Muhammad) tidak akan mendapat seorang penolong pun terhadap Kami.

(17:75) But if you had done so, We would have made you taste double chastisement in this world as well as in the Hereafter: then you would have found no helper against Us. *88

Izal la azaqnaaka di`falhayaati wa di`fal mamaati summa laa tajidu laka `alainaa naseeraa

*88) This review implies two things: (1) "If you had compromised with falsehood after recognizing the Truth, you might have pleased your degenerate people but would have incurred the wrath of Allah and would have received double chastisement both in this world and in the Hereafter." (2) "No man, not even a Messenger of Allah, can fight single-handed against the deceitful methods of falsehood, unless he receives the succour of Allah." It was the fortitude which Allah had bestowed upon the Holy Prophet, which helped him to retrain steadfast on the right position he had taken, so that no persecution, howsoever great, could turn him away in the least from that position.

  9. FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiya
  10. Kana annasu ommatan wahidatan fabaAAatha Allahu annabiyyeena mubashshireena wamunthireena waanzala maAAahumu alkitaba bilhaqqi liyahkuma bayna
