﴿كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا﴾
[ المدثر: 16]
74:16 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThe matter is not as he thinks.
He was opposed to My verses that I revealed to My messenger denying them.

Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

Kalla innahu kana liayatina AAaneedan

By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory!
