surah Assaaffat aya 164 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَمَا مِنَّا إِلَّا لَهُ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ﴾
[ الصافات: 164]
37:164 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAnd the angels said, stating their servitude to Allah and their being free of what the idolaters claimed: “There is nobody amongst us except that he has a known position in Allah’s worship and obedience.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position);
phonetic Transliteration
Wama minna illa lahu maqamun maAAloomun
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
(Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed;
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And there is not one of us (angels) but has his known place;
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
