26:18 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Pharaoh said to Moses ( peace be upon him ): Did we not bring you up as a child among us? Did you not stay with us for many years of your life? So what has now made you claim prophethood?

[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us.

Qala alam nurabbika feena waleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineena

(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?

*14) This remark of Pharaoh shows that he was not the same Pharaoh who had brought up Moses in his house, but his son. Had he been the same Pharaoh, he would have said, "I brought you up."
