﴿وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا﴾
[ النازعات: 29]
79:29 And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAnd He darkened its night when the sun set, while manifesting its light when it rose.

Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light).

Waaghtasha laylaha waakhraja duhaha
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light).
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
Its night He covers and He brings out its forenoon.

*15) The night and the day have been attributed to the heaven, for the night falls when the sun of the heavens sets and the day dawns when it rises. The word "cover" has been used for the night in the sense that after the sun has set the darkness of the night so spreads over the earth as though it has covered it from above by a curtain.
