surah shura aya 34 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿أَوْ يُوبِقْهُنَّ بِمَا كَسَبُوا وَيَعْفُ عَن كَثِيرٍ﴾
[ الشورى: 34]
42:34 Or He could destroy them for what they earned; but He pardons much.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishOr if Allah, ( may He be glorified ), willed to destroy those ships by sending gale-force winds, He would have done so on account of the sins that people earn.
He overlooks many of the sins of His servants and does not punish them for those.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.

Aw yoobiqhunna bima kasaboo wayaAAfu AAan katheerin
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
Or He may destroy them because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.
