Verily, that which you are promised is surely true.

51:5 Indeed, what you are promised is true. translate in arabic
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
That all that affords a ground of expectation of good and blessing, mercy and forgiveness to those whose deeds reflect wisdom and piety, and of retributive but just punishment to those who have denied Allah and challenged His ordinances, is consistent with the truth and agrees with reality
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(51:5) surely what you are being warned against *3 is true,
Indeed, what you are promised is true. meaning
*3) The word used in the original is to 'edun. If it is derived from we'd, the meaning would be: "That which you are being promised;" and if it is from wa'id, it would mean: "That which you are being threatened with." As regards the context, the second meaning is preferable, for the addressees are the people who were lost in disbelief, polytheism and sin, and were not prepared to believe that they would be held accountable some time in the future and would be rewarded or punished accordingly. That is why, we have taken to 'adun in the meaning of wa' id and not of wa'd (promise).
