surah Nahl aya 58 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِالْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ﴾
[ النحل: 58]
16:58 And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishWhen one of these idolaters is given the news of the birth of a female his face darkens due to the extreme dislike of such news and his heart is filled with worry and grief.
Then, he attributes to Allah what he does not like for himself!

And when the news of (the birth of) a female (child) is brought to any of them, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with inward grief!

Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bialontha thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And when the news of (the birth of) a female (child) is brought to any of them, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with inner grief!
