Verse 88 from surah Ta-Ha

﴿فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ﴾
[ طه: 88]

English - Sahih International

20:88 And he extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot."

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

So Samiri took out from this jewellery of the Israelites a lifeless body of a calf, which made a noise like that of a cow.
Those amongst them who had been tempted by Samiri’s action said: “This is your god and the god of Moses which he forgot and left here”.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Then he took out (of the fire) for them a statue of a calf which seemed to low. They said: "This is your ilah (god), and the ilah (god) of Musa (Moses), but [Musa (Moses)] has forgotten (his god).'"

phonetic Transliteration

Faakhraja lahum AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun faqaloo hatha ilahukum wailahu moosa fanasiya

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

"Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!"

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Then he took out for them a calf which was mooing. They said: "This is your god, and the god of Musa," but he had forgotten.
