Verse 10 from surah Muhammad

﴿۞ أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ دَمَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ أَمْثَالُهَا﴾
[ محمد: 10]

English - Sahih International

47:10 Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers is something comparable.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Have these deniers not travelled the earth and reflected over what was the end of those who had denied before them.
It was a painful end.
Allah destroyed their homes above them and destroyed them as well as their children and wealth.
Disbelievers in every time and place will receive similar punishment.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers.

Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim dammara Allahu AAalayhim walilkafireena amthaluha

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them (who did evil)? Allah brought utter destruction on them, and similar (fates await) those who reject Allah.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri


Have they not traveled through the earth and seen what happened in the end to those before them Allah destroyed them completely, and a similar (awaits) the disbelievers.

(47:10) Have they not journeyed through the land to see the end of those who went before them? Allah utterly destroyed them. These unbelievers are doomed to the same end. *15

*15) This sentence has two meanings: (1) 'The same destruction that was met by those disbelievers now awaits these disbelievers, who are not accepting the invitation of Muhammad (upon whom be Allah's peace and blessings); and (2) 'the ruin of those people does not end with the torment of the world; the same doom also awaits Them in the Hereafter"
