﴿فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا﴾
[ الذاريات: 2]
51:2 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAnd by the clouds that carry plenty of water,
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water;
phonetic Transliteration
Faalhamilati wiqran
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
And those that lift and bear away heavy weights;
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And the laden Hamilat;
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
51:2 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] translate in arabic
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
And by the visible mass of condensed watery vapour floating at various heights in the upper air

(51:2) which carry clouds laden with water, *1
And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] meaning
*1) All the commentators are agreed that adh-dhariyat implies the winds that disperse and mist up the dust, and al-hamilat-i wiqran implies the winds that Iift up millions of tons of water vapours from the oceans in the form of clouds. This same commentary has been reported from Hadrat `Umar, Hadrat `Ali, Hadrat 'Abdullah bin `Abbas, Hadrat `Abdullah bin `Umar, and also from Mujahid, Said bin Jubair, Hasan Basri, Qatadah, Suddi and other scholars.
