surah Maidah aya 30 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ﴾
[ المائدة: 30]
5:30 And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThe evil prompting soul of Cain persuaded him to wrongly kill his brother, Abel.
So he killed him and because of that he became one of those who are losers in this world and the Afterlife.
He set a bad example and will therefore bear that burden, as well as the burden of any person who does the same until the Day of Judgement, without any reduction in the burden of those who imitate him.

So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair-seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
So the soul of the other encouraged him and made fair-seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.
