﴿إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ﴾

38:31 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishRemember when at the time of Asr purebred fast horses were presented to him, standing on three feet with one foot raised.
These purebred horses continued to be presented to him until sunset.

When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause)].

Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot;
