﴿۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ﴾
[ الذاريات: 31]
51:31 [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAbraham ( peace be upon him ) said to the angels: “What is you case? And what do you intend?”

Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona

(Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?"

*30) As the angels come in human guise only on highly important occasions the Prophet Abraham used the word khatb to find out the purpose of their visit; the word khatb in Arabic is used for an errand of same extraordinary nature.
