They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the (20:65)

﴿قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ﴾
[ طه: 65]

20:65 They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw."

The magicians said to Moses ( peace be upon him ): O Moses, you have one of two options: Either you will be the first to throw down the magic you have, or we will be the first to do so.

They said:"O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"

phonetic Transliteration

Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona awwala man alqa

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?"

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

They said: "O Musa! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw"
