surah Yasin aya 67 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ﴾
[ يس: 67]
36:67 And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishIf I had willed to alter their form and make them sit on their feet I would have altered their form and made them sit on their feet, and they will not be able to move from their place nor will they be able to move forward nor backward.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (into animals or lifeless objects) in their places. Then they should have been unable to go forward (move about) nor they could have turned back. [As it happened with the Jews see Verse 7:166 The Quran].

Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoona
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (to remain) in their places; then should they have been unable to move about, nor could they have returned (after error).
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And if it had been Our will, We could have transformed them in their places. Then they would have been unable to go forward (move about) nor they could have turned back.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".

And had We willed We would have transmuted them and frozen them physically and spiritually in their unprivileged site, then they would have been unable to move forward to repent and do good nor backward to do evil

(36:67) If We so willed, We would have transformed them where they were so that they would not go forward or backward. *56

*56) After depicting the scene of Resurrection, the people are being warned to this effect: "The Resurrection may seem yet far off to you, but even if you consider seriously your life in this world of which you are so proud, you will see how helpless you are in the powerful grip of Allah. Your eyes by virtue of whose sight you are carrying out all your obligations in the world can be blinded at one conunand of Allah. Your legs on whose strength you are showing All this activity can become paralyzed as and when Allah wills. As long as the powers and capabilities granted by AIlah continue to function, you remain lost in the arrogance of your self, but as soon as one of them fails to function, you come to understand how helpless you are!"

ہم چاہیں تو اِنہیں اِن کی جگہ ہی پر اس طرح مسخ کر کے رکھ دیں کہ یہ نہ آگے چل سکیں نہ پیچھے پلٹ سکیں
