﴿وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب﴾
[ الشرح: 8]
94:8 And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAnd divert your passion and resolve towards Allah alone.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your intentions and hopes and) your invocations.
phonetic Transliteration
Waila rabbika fairghab
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And to your Lord turn intentions and hopes.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
94:8 And to your Lord direct [your] longing. translate in arabic

And make Allah your Creator, the heart of your purpose and the goal of contemplation

(94:8) and turn to your Lord with longing. *5
And to your Lord direct [your] longing. meaning
*5) When you are free,": When you are free from other occupations, whether occupations in connection with the preaching of Divine message, or teaching and training of the new converts, or domestic occupations of mundane nature." The commandment means: "When you are no more occupied, you should spend your time in the labour and toil of Allah's worship and turn all your attention exclusively to your Lord."
