﴿وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَا قَوْمِ إِن كُنتُمْ آمَنتُم بِاللَّهِ فَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلُوا إِن كُنتُم مُّسْلِمِينَ﴾
[ يونس: 84]

English - Sahih International

10:84 And Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allah, then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims."

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

Moses ( peace be upon him ) said to his people, ‘O my people, if you have true faith in Allah, place your reliance in Him alone, if you have submitted.
Placing reliance in Allah will protect you from harm and will bring you good’.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And Musa (Moses) said: "O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)."

Waqala moosa ya qawmi in kuntum amantum biAllahi faAAalayhi tawakkaloo in kuntum muslimeena

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

Moses said: "O my people! If ye do (really) believe in Allah, then in Him put your trust if ye submit (your will to His)."

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And Musa said: "O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims."

(10:84) Moses said: 'My people! If you believe in Allah and are truly Muslims *81 then place your reliance on Him alone.'

And Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allah, meaning

*81). Such an address could, obviously, not be directed to a community of unbelievers. The Prophet Moses' statement makes it absolutely clear that the Israelites of those days were believers. Accordingly, Moses; (peace be on him) exhorted them not to be unnerved by Pharaoh's might, that they put their trust in God's power if indeed they were true believers as they claimed,

موسیٰؑ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ “لوگو، اگر تم واقعی اللہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہو تو اس پر بھروسہ کرو اگر مسلمان ہو"
