[He is] the cleaver of daybreak and has made the night for (6:96)

﴿فَالِقُ الْإِصْبَاحِ وَجَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ سَكَنًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ حُسْبَانًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ﴾
[ الأنعام: 96]

6:96 [He is] the cleaver of daybreak and has made the night for rest and the sun and moon for calculation. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

He, may He be glorified, splits the light of dawn from the darkness of the night.
He is the One Who has made the night still, in which people can take rest from the tiring and hard work of the day.
He is the One Who has made the sun and the moon move according to a precise measure.
That marvellous creation is the determination of the Mighty, Whom none can overpower, the One Who knows what is best for His creation.

(He is the) Cleaver of the daybreak. He has appointed the night for resting, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. Such is the measuring of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

Faliqu alisbahi wajaAAala allayla sakanan waalshshamsa waalqamara husbanan thalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemi

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

He it is that cleaveth the day-break (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

(He is the) Cleaver of the daybreak. He has appointed the night for resting, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. Such is the measuring of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
