Surah Najm ayat 16 Tafsir Quran 53:16

﴿إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ﴾
[ النجم: 16]

53:16 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].

when there shrouded the Lote-tree that which shrouded it of flying creatures and other beings idh ‘when’ is operated by ra’āhu ‘he saw him’

The site which no one can conceive what embellishment overlays it, a Sidra ornamented by what no eye has seen nor ear heard

(53:16) (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it.  *12

When there covered the Lote Tree that meaning

*12) That is, "its Splendor and Glory exceeds aII description.
The Divine Glory and effulgence was such as can neither be conceived by man nor can any haman language depict it adequately.

 

( When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote tree ) when the angels enshroud the lote tree; and it is said this means: when the light enshrouds the lote tree; and it is also said that this means: when a canopy of gold enshrouds the lote tree,

When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it!
