Surah Anbiya ayat 24 Tafsir Quran 21:24

﴿أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِي ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ﴾
[ الأنبياء: 24]

21:24 Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muhammad], "Produce your proof. This [Qur'an] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.

Or have they chosen besides Him exalted be He other than Him gods? herein is an interrogative meant as a rebuke. Say ‘Bring your proof for this — but such a thing is impossible. This is the Remembrance of those with me namely my community and that Remembrance is the Qur’ān and the Remembrance of those before me of communities namely the Torah and the Gospel and other Books of God not a single one of which contains the statement that with God there exists another god in the way that they claim — exalted be He above such a thing. Nay but most of them do not know the truth the affirmation of God’s Oneness and so they are disregardful’ of that discernment that leads to knowledge of it.

Or have they taken besides Allah, the Creator, other gods which were indicated to them in previous Scriptures? if so, say to them O Muhammad: Give us convincing evidence to this effect. This Quran is the message followed by my fellows in faith and before it were the Scriptures followed by those of old. And no where do we final but monotheisms But indeed most of them fail to comprehend the truth and so they do not receive it with consenting minds

أَمِ اتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِ ءَالِهَةً قُلْ ( Or have they taken for worship gods besides Him Say: ) -- O Muhammad -- هَاتُواْ بُرْهَـنَكُمْ ( Bring your proof. ) your evidence for what you are saying. هَـذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ ( This is the Reminder for those with me ) means, the Qur'an. وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى ( and the Reminder for those before me ) means, the previous Books, unlike what you claim.
Each Book was revealed to each Prophet who was sent with the message that there is no god except Allah, but you idolators do not recognize the truth, so you turn away from it.
Allah says: وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ نُوحِى إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ أَنَاْ فَاعْبُدُونِ ( And We did not send any Messenger before you but We revealed to him (saying ): "There is no god but I.
..") This is like the Ayat: وَاسْئلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ الرَّحْمَـنِ ءَالِهَةً يُعْبَدُونَ ( And ask those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Most Gracious" ) 43:45 وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولاً أَنِ اعْبُدُواْ اللَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُواْ الْطَّـغُوتَ ( And verily, We have sent among every Ummah a Messenger (proclaiming ): "Worship Allah, and avoid Taghut ( all false deities ).") 16:36 Every Prophet who was sent by Allah called people to worship Allah Alone, with no partner or associate.
The natural inclination of man ( Al-Fitrah ) also bears witness to that.
The idolators have no proof and their dispute is of no use before their Lord; on them is wrath, and for them will be a severe torment.

(21:24) Have they discarded Him and set up other deities? Say to them, O Muhammad, "Bring your authority; here is this Book, which contains Admonition for the people of my time, and there are also those Books which contained Admonition for the former people. " *24 But most of these people have no knowledge of the Reality; therefore they have turned away from it. *25

Or have they taken gods besides Him? meaning

*24) The first two were rational arguments and this is a historical one.
This means that the study of all the former Scriptures shows that the Creator of the universe is One Allah and He alone is worthy of service and worship, while " Your religion is neither supported by rational arguments nor by historical evidence. "
*25) It is their lack of the knowledge of the Reality which has created this indifference towards the Message of the Prophet, and the same has made them heedless of the Message.'

( Or have they chosen ) or have they worshipped ( other gods ) idols ( beside Him ) beside Allah? ( Say ) to them, O Muhammad: ( Bring your proof (of their godhead )) bring your proofs for the validity of their worship. ( This ) i.e. the Qur’an ( is the Reminder of those with me ) is the events of those with me ( and those before me ) and the events of those who were before among the believers and disbelievers, and it does not contain that Allah has children or partners, ( but most of them ) all of them ( know not the Truth ) nor believe in Muhammad ( pbuh ) and the Qur’an ( and so they are averse ) they disbelieve in Muhammad ( pbuh ) and in the Qur’an.

Or have they taken for worship (other) aliha (gods) besides Him? Say: "Bring your proof:" This (the Quran) is the Reminder for those with me and the Reminder for those before me. But most of them know not the Truth, so they are averse.
