Surah Qalam ayat 27 Tafsir Quran 68:27

﴿بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ﴾
[ القلم: 27]

68:27 Rather, we have been deprived."

‘Nay but we have been deprived!’ of its fruits by our denying it to the poor folk.

But having recognized the calamity, they said : We have suffered a big loss; we will get no return for our labour and effort, and our expectant waiting has come to a moist mirage in desert eyes

قَالُواْ سُبْحَـنَ رَبّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـلِمِينَ- فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـوَمُونَ- قَالُواْ يوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـغِينَ- عَسَى رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْراً مّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبّنَا رغِبُونَ- كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الاْخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ-

(68:27) rather, we are utterly ruined.' *16

Rather, we have been deprived." meaning

*16) That is, on seeing the garden they didn't believe it was their own garden, and they said: " Perhaps we have lost our way and come to another place. " But, when they considered it seriously and found it was their own garden, they cried out: " Alas we are undone! "
 

قَالُواْ سُبْحَـنَ رَبّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـلِمِينَ- فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـوَمُونَ- قَالُواْ يوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـغِينَ- عَسَى رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْراً مّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبّنَا رغِبُونَ- كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الاْخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ-

Then they said: ( Nay, but we are desolate! ) We have been denied the benefit of the garden because of our ill intentions.

(Then they said): "Nay! Indeed we are deprived of (the fruits)!"
